Virginia Tech has named Kimberly Brown, director of the schools academic advising center, as the universitys interim associate vice provost for academic support services.

Robert Bodnar, a Virginia Tech University Distinguished Professor, has been named Virginias Outstanding Scientist 2010 by Gov. Bob McDonnell and the Science Museum of Virginia.

Virginia Techs College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has named Pavli Mykerezi director of the agricultural technology program.

Judy Riffle, professor of chemistry and director of Virginia Techs macromolecular science and engineering program, has been elected a fellow in the polymeric materials science and engineering division of the American Chemical Society.

Teresa Keller, Emory & Henry College professor of mass communications, and Romesh Batra, Virginia Tech professor of engineering science and mechanics, have been awarded 2010 Outstanding Faculty Awards by the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia.

Maura Borrego, Virginia Tech assistant professor of engineering education, is a 2010 recipient of one of two Virginia Outstanding Faculty Rising Star Awards sponsored by the SCHEV and Dominion.
