Title:Greater Roanoke Regional Water Supply Plan - Public Information Meeting
Description:The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission will host a regional community meeting to present information on the Greater Roanoke Regional Water Supply Plan and solicit stakeholder input on issues regarding water supply and use. The Greater Roanoke Regional Water Supply Plan is being developed to comply with the State Water Control Board’s regulation 9 VAC 25-780, Local and Regional Water Supply Planning and to produce a functional plan to support sustainable growth and economic development. The purpose of the regulation is to establish a comprehensive water supply planning process for the development of local, regional, and state water supply plans. Jurisdictions participating in the Greater Roanoke Regional Water Supply Plan include the counties of Bedford, Botetourt, Franklin, and Roanoke; the cities of Bedford, Roanoke, and Salem; and the towns of Boones Mill, Buchanan, Fincastle, Rocky Mount, Troutville, and Vinton. The Bedford County Public Service Authority and the Western Virginia Water Authority are also participating. The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission is coordinating this planning effort. Light refreshments will be available at the meeting. The Vinton War Memorial is located at 814 E. Washington Avenue, Vinton, VA 24179.
