About
The Blue Ridge Business Journal is one of Virginia's oldest (founded in 1988) and most respected business publications. It prints 25 issues a year, covering business news for 17 counties in the Blue Ridge Region. It also prints 4 special pull-out sections throughout the year. The Business Journal has a strong production team of writers and designers who have helped the publication continually evolve in its appearance and quality. We also have a solid sales team of individuals dedicated to helping businesses convey their message to our more than 60,000 readers.
Awards
During its 16 years of publication, the Journal has been cited a number of times by organizations like the Virginia Press Association for journalistic excellence and has won awards from organizations as varied as the Virginia Farm Bureau and several small business organizations.
The Blue Ridge Business Journal won the following awards in 2003 and 2004:
Perry F. Kendig Award for support of the arts from the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge
Environmental Education Award from the Clean Valley Council
Honorable Mention Torch Award from the BBB Serving Western Virginia
Editor, Dan Smith is a multiple winner of awards for editing, writing, design and photography from the Virginia Press Association.
