Properly structuring your e-mail message By Donna Dilley
Civil discourse through e-mail communications begins with a “Dear Dan,” “Dear Mr. Wilson,” or simply “Dan.” If you normally address a person as Miss/Ms./Mrs./Mr. Smith, then greet that person in your e-mail in this manner. Using the first name of the recipient in your e-mail greeting is perfectly acceptable if you’re on a first name basis with the person.
